Creativity: Photography

I am really getting excited about retiring from my day job. I will have time to step up several new projects. All of these projects fall into the creative category:
  • Photography
  • Painting
  • Book Narration
  • Short films
I have already started with a local photography group. We will run it the same way that my writers group runs. We are getting together for the first time tomorrow for coffee. We will talk tools, cameras, software, methods and styles.

My first goal with the photo group is to get some decent author photos to use on my new website and in my books.

I plan on setting up a recording studio in my home where I will record the narration of my various short fiction and post them on a website that is set up like old style Science Fiction Radio theater.

--All of this will be done under the unbrella of Tannhauser Studios.  A subsiderary of Tannhauser Enterprises!

Capclave 2015

This image is cool and has nothing to do with Caclave

From the website:

Capclave is a small relaxed literary convention with a program that usually focuses on the short fiction form. Our Guests of Honor and other notable authors, editors, artists, and fans of the short fiction form will explore the creation and enjoyment of short fantasy and science fiction genre stories.

Past Capclaves have hosted discussions with authors and fans; readings by authors; a dealer's room with books, magazines, artwork, crafts, and other science fiction and fantasy related items; exhibits by artists; space science presentations from NASA; a hospitality suite; room parties; interesting conversations with other fans and professionals; and a relaxed atmosphere for visiting old friends and meeting new friends.

I will be there all day on Saturday! See you there!

Reviews

My book was released on Kindle and two days later I got my first review. It was a guy I don't know.

I am glad it was positive, but the real thing that struck me was that, it was written by someone I didn't know. People are reading my novel. People in Australia are actually reading my book.

It's kind of surreal.

Adding to that feeling is that fact that I now have an Author page on Amazon.

--Having fun.

Almost There...

The editor is done working on my book. She did a GREAT job! I learned a lot, mostly because I am making this all up as I go along!

I have begun the actual mechanics of publishing it myself. I have copyrighted the story and even have an ISBN now.

Here is what the final cover will be, I think:

I am still working on the text for the back cover. One more time through and it will be ready for Amazon.

--I am currently working on Book 3!

How Much Do Writers Earn?

I saw this article on How Much Do Writers Earn? Less Than You Think!

I actually can say I am not surprised at all.

--My goal is to move from column one to four as soon as I can!
