After I finish a novel, one of my reviews is for the word "very". The word is easy to replace and improve the book.
The list on the right is a set of examples to illustrate the concept.
When I am rolling in my first draft mode, I end up using "very" way more than I even realize. Very often, er, ummm.. frequent...
It is funny how once I became sensitive to the word I even notice it in books I read.
